WHAT IS QUALITY..?..WHAT IS POTENTIAL QUALITY..?..WHAT IS ACTUAL QUALITY..?

WHAT IS QUALITY..?

Quality is basically a measure of excellence or a state of being free from defects.

According to Six sigma Quality is inversely proportional to variability. It means if variability increases then Quality decreases.

WHAT IS POTENTIAL QUALITY..?

Potential Quality is the maximum value added per unit input. It is denoted by PQ.

WHAT IS ACTUAL QUALITY..?

Actual Quality is the current value added per unit input. It is denoted by AQ.

The difference between Potential Quality and Actual Quality is known as waste.

  i.e  PQ - AQ  =   WASTE

This is where Six Sigma comes in action , by implementing Six sigma we try to improve the Quality and raise AQ to PQ.

In this way we will reduce the Waste and improve the Quality.
