Firstly , If we need to stay in business , we have to get 100 % quality and we cannot compromise on quality.
A very simple and positive definition f Cost Of Poor Quality ( COPQ ) is that :--
COPQ can be defined as those costs which would disappears if systems , processes and products were perfect , this means we have targeted and achieved 100 % quality.
OR
We can say that COPQ is " not doing something right at the frist time ".
It includes Cost of replacement , rework , scrapping and expenses incurred in refund.
One of the quite famous example of COPQ is from Toyota :--
Toyota in 2009 recalled 9 million cars.
Because there was a quality failure , there was defective brakes and also a potential problem in which poorly placed or incorrect floor mats under the driver's seat could lead to uncontrolled acceleration in a range of models.
